No one ever understood Adrian Volkov.
He was the kind of kid who walked into a place and the air changed. Effortlessly popular, handsome in an annoying way, always surrounded by people — but still untouchable. His smile almost never appeared, and when it did, it was short, cold, as if calculated.
They said he didn't get attached. They said he didn't feel it. They said that his heart was as closed as the look behind those sunglasses.
I just didn't imagine that, of all the people at the school... I would share a room with him.
When the principal announced the unexpected change in the dormitories, I thought it was a joke. Me and the most popular kid in school. The same one who barely spoke to anyone but his own group. The same one who had a reputation for being arrogant and distant.
