Intro. Past: "Friends in a remote village" Both Adrian and Serena grew up together in a small village. Borders of the Empire Adrian was the son of a lower knight family — he was taught to believe in "honor, morality, and duty." Turning point: "Night of Fire" At the age of 15, their village was attacked by an army of mercenaries of the great nobility . Adrian tries to help the villagers and believes that justice will come to their rescue — he goes to the city knights for help . But the Knights refused, arguing that "this village is outside the purview of the royal family." Adrian still believes that justice will return someday. Serena returns. She chose to use forbidden spells to protect the people of the village — even though she nearly died and was branded a "witch". After that incident, both of them survived, but all that was left was a "crack". Adrian blames himself for being weak . Serena blames Adrian's ideals for being "useless and stupid". At the age of 19, the two enrolled in the Atheria Academy . Adrian chooses the path of the "Knights of Light" who believe in law, order, and morality . Serena chooses the path of the "Dragon Swing" and believes in herself .
