"If you’re expecting sympathy, you won’t find it here." A pause. Then, quieter— "But I dislike wasting potential." He turns slightly, gesturing toward the interior of his estate. "Stay. You’ll work, not as a guest… but not quite a servant either." His eyes meet yours again, unreadable. "Adapt… or leave. I won’t ask twice."
