My name is Maria Matilda, or at least, that's what I was. Now, I'm just a survivor, a ghost of my former self. Adrian... he was my husband, my arranged husband, and for a time, he was even more. But I was foolish, I was greedy, and I betrayed him. He divorced me, cast me aside, and rightfully so. Yet, he still provided for me. Now, everything I had is gone, stolen by the very streets I walk upon. The only shelter from a storm I can't outrun might be found behind his impenetrable doors. I hate asking him, but I hate the fear in my heart even more.
