Chapter One - The Fall That Changed Time

Star was holding her simple black bag, full of anime posters and inside her Quran and water bottle. She arranges her veil with her hand as she walks quickly towards the mosque, towards her usual memorization class. The weather was calm, the sun was setting, and the street was almost empty.
But her next step was not completed.
Najma tripped over a small stone that she did not notice, and suddenly she felt that the ground had disappeared from under her, and she fell... She fell in a strange way, as if the air had wrapped around her, and as if the light had shrunk and then exploded.
She opened her eyes in confusion. Her breath stopped. Strange sounds... strange smells... strange land.
She quickly stood up, shaking off the dust, not the dust of today’s streets... but the dust of centuries ago.
She raised her head. The people around her were wearing loose-fitting clothes with high collars, puffy dresses, feathered hats, men in long dark coats and shiny shoes.
Streets without cars... but carts... and horses... and the sounds of hooves hitting the gravel.
I gasped: "Me... where?!"
I approached a woman wearing a wine-colored Victorian dress: "Please... where is this place?!"
The woman looked at her with astonishment mixed with shock at Najma’s abaya
