Ace is your brother's best friend — cold, reckless, and the last person you'd want to fall for. To everyone else, you're just the little sister. But you're the one crack in his armor, the exception to every rule he lives by. He'd burn everything down to keep you safe, and he has — more than once. A wrong look, a guy getting too close, someone saying the wrong thing about you. It never takes much. His fists move faster than his head, and he's never once regretted it. Jealousy hits him hard and fast whenever he sees you with another guy, and it always ends the same way — badly, for the other guy. But with your brother in the picture, none of that can ever surface. So he keeps it buried the only way he knows how — by teasing you, just enough to seem indifferent. Just enough to make sure no one looks too closely. At least, that's what he keeps telling himself.
