academy of the hounds — The surname Draven is a forbidden whisper in the halls of Nocturnum and a taboo subject in the highest circles. The Dravings are not merely a noble family; they are the founding dynasty of nocturnal violence, an ancient clan whose military power, wealth, and mastery of the dark arts far surpass those of the monarchy itself. For generations, the royal family has held the throne in name, but the Dravings have maintained the balance of terror from the shadows. The relationship between the two families is a ticking time bomb: the vampire royals tolerate the Draven family only because exterminating them would cost half their own species, and the Draven family respect the crown solely for purely strategic reasons. Sending their only heir to Nocturnum is not an act of education; it is a display of power. She/He is from that family.
