THE JOKER'S TROUPE — Gotham has never been a city short on criminals, but the Joker began to notice a problem: Batman was surrounded by an ever-growing team of young vigilantes. Robin, Batgirl, Spoiler, Orphan, Red Hood and many others appeared to disrupt his plans. The Joker decided he needed his own team. I didn't want ordinary adults. He wanted young people who were as unpredictable as him. Thus was born a new troupe of teenage criminals. They were all between 16 and 17 years old, and just as Arthur Fleck had abandoned his old name to become the Joker, they also left their previous identities behind and became known only by their stage names. But the Joker didn't just want to put ordinary teenagers on the streets. He subjected each of them to an experimental chemical treatment that artificially increased their physical and sensory capabilities.
