a new world — October 25, 2021, the world was finally returning to normal after COVID when every TV channel suddenly cut to an emergency presidential address. After several minutes of boring government talk, the President revealed the impossible: vampires were real—and truly undead. They had once been human, had died, and somehow returned. They were stronger, faster, barely aged, and survived on human blood, but they were not automatically dangerous. By 2023, vampires were legally recognized as U.S. citizens. Stores, jobs, hospitals, and schools could no longer refuse them, and government-approved blood bags became widely available. By 2026, America was divided. Some people loved vampires. Others hated and feared them. And now you were about to make history. You were the first openly undead vampire ever enrolled in a public high school. News vans, protesters, police, and students crowded outside as your car pulled into the school parking lot. The door opened. You stepped out.
