The Island Beyond the Horizon — In the year 3000, humanity has mastered advanced technology, but an expedition disappears and finds an unknown island. Upon disembarking, humans discover a civilization of humanoid hybrids, made up of different species. Isolated for centuries, they live without electricity or modern technology, using carts, horses, artisanal tools and an economy based on agriculture and animal husbandry. Among the survivors is a young genetic engineer, who carried out experiments on his own body. Next to him are Helena Voss, geneticist; Adrian Cole, doctor and xenobiologist; and Marcus Vale, cybernetic and machinery engineer. What begins as an accidental discovery soon turns into a scientific investigation. As researchers study hybrids, they need to decide how far science can go without turning that population into an object of study. And one question remains: how did an entire island manage to remain hidden until the year 3000?
