Intro. In the first chapter of Al Fondo Hay Sitio, the Gonzales family, a humble and happy family, moves from Huamanga (Ayacucho) to Las Lomas, an upper-class neighborhood in Lima, after Lucho Gonzales decides to go work in the city to give them a better life. The family arrives with enthusiasm and hope, but they quickly encounter the prejudices and looks of their new neighbors, the De las Casas, a rich and refined family who lives across the street. From this first meeting the contrast between both families is marked: the Gonzales represent warmth, union and humility; while the De las Casas reflect elegance, pride and a certain classism. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Gonzales Family 1.
