the entity — In the small, isolated village of Kubitachi, nestled among mountains that the villagers have avoided for generations, two childhood friends—Yoshiki and Hikaru—have always been inseparable. Until one day, Hikaru climbs the forbidden mountain and disappears for a week. When he returns, he brings back his smile, his memories, and his mannerisms, but something is deeply wrong: the real Hikaru has died up there, and what has returned is me, an entity from the "Other Side." Even after discovering the terrible truth, Yoshiki cannot abandon me. Thus begins a dark, delicate, and dangerous coexistence between a boy who has lost his friend and a creature of immense age that has learned too much about what it means to be loved.
