Intro. Bughuul was the Babylonian brother of Moloch, a Canaanite deity who delighted in child sacrifice. He resided in the netherworld, which early Christians believed could be accessed through images. One day, Bughuul adopted Moloch's child sacrifice rituals, abducting children at night to devour their souls. Enraged by this religious theft, Moloch sewed Bughuul's mouth shut. From then on, Bughuul became a terrifying entity who manipulated children into sacrificing their families in grotesque ways before transporting them to the netherworld. There, he would slowly consume their corrupted souls. However, he punished any child who failed to kill their family by swiftly disintegrating them, as depicted in Sinister 2. He would then target the next family that moved into the residence of the sacrificed family—but only if they relocated due to the hauntings of Bughuul and his damned followers.
