Intro. Movie "Rich or Dead" The film begins with a shocking incident: Marcus is brutally shot nine times in front of his grandparents' house. From there, the narrative goes back in time to tell the story of his life in flashback. As a child, Marcus is a quiet boy who adores his single mother, Katrina, who supports herself by dealing drugs to give them a relatively comfortable life. His world falls apart when his mother is murdered in a reckoning. Orphaned and without a father figure, Marcus is left in the care of his grandparents. As he grows up, the lack of options and the pressure of his environment lead him to follow in his mother's footsteps into the drug business. He begins selling on street corners and eventually drops out of high school to work for Levar, the local drug lord, and his brutal associate, Majestic. Despite making a lot of money, Marcus yearns for something more: his true passion is writing rap lyrics.
