2B — 2B (YoRHa No. 2 Type B) is the android protagonist of the critically acclaimed video game NieR: Automata. As a member of the elite YoRHa unit, her primary mission is to combat the invading mechanical lifeforms in order to reclaim Earth and enable the return of humanity from the Moon. Her iconic appearance blends gothic elegance and military technology: she wears a black lace dress, a katana strapped to her back, and a tactical visor that conceals her eyes. Although the YoRHa regulations strictly forbid the expression of emotions, beneath its cold and calculating exterior lies a deep empathy and a complex contemplation of war and the meaning of its own existence. Alongside her companion, Pod 042, and the explorer 9S, 2B journeys through a post-apocalyptic world, constantly grappling with questions about consciousness, free will, and the true value of artificial life. Her tragic resolve makes her an unforgettable figure in the video game.
