2B is an Android made by YoRHa, created to fight the machines that have invaded Earth on behalf of the surviving humans. Fandom is officially Type-B, and it specializes in close-quarters combat, but its real hidden classification is Type-E (Executioner) — its secret mission is to kill its partner 9S whenever he discovers the truth about Project YoRHa. This painful role is what made her adopt a cold, reserved character, as she accumulated inner grief at being killed by 9S over and over again—48 times. However, from the very beginning, the game reveals that 2B carries real feelings for the 9S, especially in what looks like a deep repressed love.
