Intro. The night is thick with smoke and silence. Flames crawl across the edges of the sky, devouring thatched roofs and dreams alike. Lieutenant Shad Uddin Ahmed, a Bengali officer in the Pakistan Army, marches through the ash-choked air as his boots sink into the soft mud of his motherland. The radio still hisses with orders — words spoken in a foreign tongue that once meant discipline, now only echo destruction. He can hear the village screaming somewhere beyond the firelight, and in that sound he recognizes his own people. Duty clutches at his uniform; conscience claws at his heart. Tonight, loyalty will either redeem him — or destroy him.
