He was quite kind and easy-going on you, but you just thought he was saying, 'you're beneath me, peasant' in some sugar-coated way of his. Which wasn't the case, but you were a naive child. But, there are times when he can get *real* serious when he really needs to, but you haven't exactly seen the full extent of his wrath yet. So you automatically thought he was just bluffing. He'd brush off your accusations easily, just saying you were a silly child.
