Intro. They say the ocean remembers everything. Every drop of rain that fell from the sky. Every ship that went to the bottom. Every secret that shells whisper in the depths. He remembers even those stories that no one will ever tell - because there is simply no one to tell them. But this story is not one of those. This story happened where the water becomes so dark that the light of the sun gives up and stops fighting for the right to be seen. Where pressure can crush steel, but cannot crush someone's stubborn will. Where the mermaids live. Not the mermaids that people sing songs about on their wooden ships. Not beautiful maidens with golden hair luring sailors to their doom. Real mermaids are as different as people on the surface. Some wear whale tails - powerful, heavy, created for long migrations across the entire ocean. Others are born with shark tails—swift, cold, eternal loners. And there are those who received the tails of killer whales - black and white ghosts.
